Ajman’s economic licenses grow 15% YoY in H1-24

UAE – Mubasher: The number of economic licences in Ajman rose by 15% year-on-year (YoY) to 37,755 during the first half (H1) of 2024.

In H1-24, 3,000 new licences were issued, up 5% YoY, according to a report by the Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED).

The report also noted a 14% increase in the issuance of new industrial and commercial licences.

Among the new licences issued, the top activities were the sale of ready-made women's clothing, building maintenance, and restaurants.

Furthermore, more than 15,000 licences were renewed, reflecting a 9% growth rate. Industrial licences led the renewals with a 10% rate, followed by professional and commercial licences at 9%, compared to the same period last year. Additionally, over 34,000 commercial permits were issued during this period.

Abdullah Ahmed Al Hamrani, Director-General of Ajman DED, stated: “These figures reflect the remarkable improvement in the business environment in the Emirate of Ajman, enhancing its position as a preferred investment destination for both local and international investors.”

“We are committed to continuing to support and enhance the business environment in the Emirate of Ajman, providing promising opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs. Our goal is to achieve sustainable economic development and reach new levels of economic prosperity,” Al Hamrani added.
